2019 is the year of Blockchain applications with several ongoing use-cases coming to realization. The vendor landscape also gained more depth and a better structure after years of press and vendor hype, fueled equally by commercial self-interest and a genuine desire for innovation.

This workshop explores the foundations, architecture and applications of Blockchain technology. The transparent, secure, immutable and distributed ledger used currently as the underlying technology for cryptocurrency in financial services. In addition, we will look at security in logistics, operations, supply chain management and in national security as an identity verification tool.
In this workshop you will learn about the decentralized peer-to-peer network, distributed ledger and the trust model that defines Blockchain technology.

This workshop will explain components of Blockchain (transaction, block, block header, and the chain) its operations (hashing, verification, validation, and consensus model) underlying algorithms, and essentials of trust (hard fork and soft fork).
The types of Blockchain including private and public Blockchain networks similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum will be introduced. Concepts of smart contracts, proof of work and proof of stake will be explained. The relationship between Blockchain technology, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation will be explored.

Myths about Blockchain will be discussed. Participants will also gain hands-on experience in how to access Blockchain test networks, and use crypto currency. Demo of Blockchain operations will be presented with hands-on practices.
