“I started freelancing on a whim, and it’s just grown exponentially every year,” he told Insider.

Newman writes descriptions for direct-to-consumer products and business-to-business services.

Newman is one of more than 800,000 service sellers on Fiverr. His success coincides with the growing gig and freelance workforce that’s surged throughout the pandemic.

Newman has written more than 13,000 unique item descriptions and earned more than $1.2 million in revenue so far, documents verified by Insider showed.

Each year, he takes home about $150,000.What’s more, he’s listed as one of Fiverr’s “top-rated” members and has a five-star rating.

Here’s how Newman tapped into the freelance workforce and how his process earned him more than $1 million.

Find a platform that manages logistics When Newman originally joined Fiverr in 2014, he started out with small $5 jobs, making about $100 some days as a side hustle. After a few years of building this to a few hundred dollars a week, he took his side hustle full time.

Newman exclusively uses Fiverr and said the platform is the reason he’s been able to build such a sustainable business without overwhelming himself in work.

“I have three kids.I like to travel.I like spending time with my wife,” he said.

It’s easy to set up a profile, the platform connects him with clients, and it advertises his services, he said. That way, all he has to do is the work.

“That’s the biggest benefit,” Newman said.”You don’t have to worry about the rest of it.”

The process starts with collaboration Through Fiverr, clients can contact Newman from anywhere and at any time.Offering services to international clients is great for his business expansion, but it can come with some difficulties, such as navigating time differences and sometimes language barriers.

In his initial outreach call with clients, Newman establishes the project’s deadlines and how to market the item.

Then, he meets customers through Fiverr’s messaging service to better understand the product they’re trying to sell.Next, he shares how they’ll best achieve their sales goals. This includes comprehensive SEO planning and keyword usage, two points of success that other copywriters should keep at the top of their minds, he said.

Newman then uses these conversations to turn out a concept for the final product.

“Some people have no idea, but they’re very enthusiastic, and some people know every detail,” he said of the requests he received.”It’s easy to fill in the gaps that they’re needing.”

Levi Newman heavily researches the product niche before crafting a description.

“I read, read, and read some more before I write anything so that what I’m writing properly translates to the target audience,” he wrote in a follow-up email.”I’ve been fortunate enough to work on a lot of different projects, so prior experience helps a lot.”

Then, he shares the final description with the client. He allows for revisions up to four days after the job is complete to ensure he didn’t miss anything.Occasionally, a client won’t like the final result, which is typical for any service-based business, he said.

If he receives a complaint, he’ll explain why he chose the specific wording, framing, or keywords based on his expert knowledge, then he’ll hear the client out about their dissatisfaction.

Additionally, he avoids using business terminology in his descriptions so consumers can better understand and connect with the product.Newman said, “I really liked to write about connecting businesses with people in a positive way.”
