Andrew Neil has not presented his flagship evening show on GB News since he took a break from the channel just a fortnight after its launch.Channel insiders expected Neil would be returning shortly but this comeback has now been delayed amid a reported “rift” between the former BBC broadcaster and GB News bosses.

GMB’s Laura Tobin red-faced over wardrobe malfunction The GB News chairman planned to return on Monday, according to The Times.

However, this comeback has been put on hold as speculation over disagreements between Neil and senior management grows.

Neil has been trying to come to an agreement with channel bosses about his return.

The former BBC broadcaster has not presented his 8pm flagship show since June 24.

Susanna Reid’s appearance distracts GMB viewers He announced his break just a fortnight after GB News launched.

At the time of his departure, Neil said: “I’ll be back before the summer is out.”

Sources have implied Neil has clashed with GB News’ chief executive Angelos Frangopoulos, according to The Times.

Neil wasn’t happy with the launch of the channel which was plagued by technical blunders.

Meanwhile, GB News has announced a new daily show called The Briefing AM.

Former Sunday Times political editor Isabel Oakeshott will join the channel to present the show.

Although Neil has been missing from his usual 8pm slot, he did make an appearance on Nigel Farage’s show last month.
