TRON Avoids Calamitous $500m Loss

The 0d research team at dWallet labs discovered a major issue on the TRON blockchain.There was a critical zero-day vulnerability that affected multisig accounts, which require many signatures for a transaction to proceed.But due to the detected flaw, any person associated with a multisig account could have accessed the funds within it all by themselves, without needing other signatures.
It turns out that TRON made some mistakes in how they handled multisig.They didn’t properly verify all the necessary information during the verification process.According to the 0d researchers, this flaw could have completely bypassed TRON’s multisig security measures.
The 0d team did the responsible thing and reported this issue to TRON through their bug bounty program on February 19th.
They mentioned that TRON acted quickly and patched the vulnerability within a few days.They also said that most TRON validators have now applied the patch.
To reassure everyone, the researchers made it clear on Twitter that now that the vulnerability has been fixed, user assets are no longer at risk.
As of now, TRON itself hasn’t released an official statement addressing the issue.
