They closed my account too, and I have no idea why.It was not my primary bank and I only had it for referral bonus.I only used Chime’s balance for making credit card payments. My account was not inactive though.

I’d periodically transfer $50-100 from my primary bank account.I’m waiting for them to mail me a check with remaining balance I had on my account.Initially, I thought they closed my account cause I used it twice to fund Crypto .com card and I’ve read reports of banks closing account if used to purchase crypto currencies. Now, seeing all this I’m not sure if that was the cause.Tbh, I really loved Chime.Their mobile app is second to none, and it sucks they closed my account.Vote Up 0 Vote Down Reply August 10, 2020, 00:04 12:04 am ne0ven0m #1033288
I’ve been in a 2 week ordeal with Chime now, after having my account suspended.

I’ve supplied them with all the absurd documentation requests (for instance, a selfie of me holding my license), as well as explanation for deposits. They confirmed receipt, said it would be resolved in 2 days. Then no further response on e-mail, and their call reps (clearly overseas) don’t seem to help, just saying their review department will contact me.Read up online, and you’ll see hundreds of similar complaints (various review sites, BBB, Reddit for Chime).Chime seems like a scummy company.Maybe they’re low on cash flow, who knows? It’s not like I’m new to bank accounts, as I’ve followed DoC for years, and gotten several bank SUBs, dealt with plenty of issues. No bank has ever tried to hold my money ransom without response.

I am definitely consideration legal assistance if this isn’t resolved after a few more weeks.Vote Up 0 Vote Down Reply August 9, 2020, 23:51 11:51 pm AndreRamirez #1033215
I was trying to open an account for a family member today and they rejected the application, never seen that before. The message was “We’re Sorry! Unfortunately, based on the information provided, we were unable to open a Chime Deposit Account for you at this time.Due to security reasons, our Member Services team is unable to provide you with any further information”.
I had no idea why this happened, just assumed I screwed something up with the application and would have to try again later.
However after seeing this post I have a feeling that is related to this.

I bet they are going through an audit of inactive accounts or something and screwed up the automation.Just a theory though, could be anything.Vote Up 2 Vote Down Reply August 9, 2020, 21:13 9:13 pm Search.
