Police say David Longmire punched the driver, who was sitting in the driver’s seat, after forcing his way onto the medical-transport vehicle as it idled in the 7800 block of Cicero Avenue on Aug.23.Longmire then put the driver in a headlock while threatening to kill him and converting the headlock to the martial arts position, police said.He is charged with aggravated battery to a person 60 or older, aggravated battery to a transit employee and aggravated battery in a public place.

Advertisement AGGRAVATED BATTERY: An Oak Lawn man was charged Sept.13 with aggravated battery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with allegedly pushing another person while wielding a handgun.The charge stems from a Sept.6 incident in the 9300 block of Narragansett Avenue.

Officers recovered the loaded .22 pistol while searching for Adam M.Schmitz, 30, 9500 block of Normandy Avenue, with the aid of Oak Lawn police department’s K-9 unit.

Schmitz, who lacks a concealed carry license, turned himself into investigators on Sept.

Hicks stole merchandise selling for $915.49 on Sept.4 and was taken into custody Sept.7 after stealing merchandise selling for $399.97, resisting two officers and was found to have an undisclosed amount of black-market tranquilizers, police said.Lansing ARMED ROBBERY: Police say two people have been charged with armed robbery in connection with a Sept.13 holdup in Lansing.Eddie A.Payton, 18, 14500 block of Calhoun Avenue, Burnham, is being held in Cook County Jail and his accomplice, a 16-year-old female, is in the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, according to police and sheriff’s records online.The two drove up to a person in the 18100 block of School Street a little before 2 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded the victim’s belongings, police said.

Steger AGGRAVATED BATTERY: A Steger man who allegedly attacked two South Chicago Heights officers investigating a missing juvenile case remained in the Will County Adult Detention Facility Wednesday morning in lieu of $35,000 bond, according to police and sheriff’s records online.Juan A.Celinder, 29, first block of 35th Place, was arrested by a Steger officer Sept.15 at 35th Place and Chicago Road, police said.

The Steger officer diverted Celinder’s attention from the two officers, twice deploying a stun gun to bring him under control, police said.Celinder was transported to an area medical center and subsequently booked into the detention facility Sept.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: A Chicago man who led police on a high-speed chase after burglarizing a Steger home was charged Friday with residential burglary and aggravated fleeing and eluding, according to police and Will County circuit court records online.

Van A.Robinson, 29, Chicago, was loading a refrigerator and stove from the home on Barbara Lane into his van as officers arrived, police said.He headed north into South Chicago Heights, then east on Sauk Trail, driving 80 mph — 35 mph above the posted speed limit — before crashing into a light pole, police said.He was taken into custody while running away, police said.
