This week, the Solana Ecowallet suffered a massive attack, with more than 9,000 wallets stolen and total losses of more than $4 million.Later blockchain auditor OtterSec confirmed that Slope’s mobile app sends mnemonics over TLS to its centralized Sentry server, which then stores the mnemonics in plaintext, meaning that anyone with access to Sentry has access to the user private key.
According to CoinDesk, Saber chief architect Ian Macalinao previously wrote a TVL algorithm that double-counted billions of dollars multiple times within Solana’s DeFi ecosystem, with Sabre and Sunny accounting for $7.5 billion at the peak of Solana’s $10.5 billion TVL.
Ian Macalinao has also created as many as 11 fake identities, including Sunny’s developer Surya Khosla, Goki Rajesh, founder of the multi-signature wallet Goki, and 0xGhostchain, founder of the stablecoin project Cashio, among others.
