Almost six years later, after the hard fork, Ripple (XRP) has released its rippled version 1.0.0. The release coincides with Tron (XRP) launch of its own blockchain which took place on May 31.
Furthermore, the update has also been overshadowed by the launching of EOS blockchain scheduled to take place on June 2.

0 has been made to contain various enhancements that have been added to the last software. V1.0.
0 is an emblem of growing maturity of the network and the software. It is going to increase the stability of the network, expand the decentralization and ensure that the network of nodes from across the world is working efficiently.
However, rippled has been designed to keep on using the semantic versioning ((MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH), which will assist in planning future upgrades and releases.
The server operators have been requested to carry out the upgrade of software before Thursday, June 14, 2018, to ensure continued connectivity.
Importance of Upgrading the Server
The network says that there will be repercussions if servers are not upgraded before the date above. Ripple (XRP) notes that:
“If you operate a rippled server, but do not upgrade to version 1.0.0 by Thursday, 2018-06-14–when fix1543, fix1571 and fix1623 are expected to be enabled via Amendment——then your rippled server will become amendment blocked.” More importantly, the release emphasizes, “a server that is amendment blocked cannot determine the validity of a ledger, cannot submit or process transactions, does not participate in the consensus process, does not vote on future amendments and cannot rely on potentially invalid data.”
If the upgrade is worked out correctly according to instructions , the server will not be amendment blocked. The instructions can be found in the official release blog post. Furthermore, the technical team at Ripple has sent V1.
0.0 to all servers under their control as well as the privately controlled clusters. More information on the release has been published on various platforms including XRP Ledger Developer Portal, Ripple Forum, Ripple Dev Blog and XRP Chat. Users have been asked to explore the features, ask questions, discuss and learn the new software.
Ripple took the opportunity to encourage the community to review and dive into finding bugs. The Ripple’s Bug Bounty program has been updated too.
The XRP Ledger
Ripple (XRP) also took time to explain to the public what its XRP Ledger is saying “The XRP Ledger is a public decentralized cryptographic ledger powered by a global network of peer-to-peer servers. The XRP Ledger is the root ledger of XRP, a digital asset designed to bridge global currencies for payments.
As a software company, Ripple contributes to the open source development of the XRP Ledger, in support of the Internet of Value: a world in which money moves the way information does today.”
The XRP Ledger has the capability of processing transactions in less than 5 seconds at the same time doing a throughput of 1,500 transaction requests per second. “The consensus algorithm is censorship-resistant.” Because “no one can “roll back” a transaction after it completes and no one has control over the consensus algorithm.

Ripple (XRP) is looking forward to a more rewarding future with this upgrade. rippled is also moving towards the 1.x series which will see the XRP Ledger achieve much more.
